Tactile/Braille (ADA) Signs

Raised lettering and ADA compliant braille signage for interior and exterior applications.

Our braille is made from true Raster spheres, ensuring a long life for the feel of the braille and the look of the sign. Each sign is hand inspected for quality assurance.

The Americans with Disabilities Act requirements:

Must have tactile (raised) and Braille characters.
Tactile characters raised 1/32", and between 5/8” and 2” high.
3/8" minimum spacing between lines of text, borders and Braille.
All upper case characters.
Characters and pictograms must contrast with their background.
Pictograms must be 5" high and be located within a 6” minimum height field that is free of characters or Braille.
Braille dots must be dome shaped (not cylinder shaped).

Signs shall be installed:

On the wall adjacent to the latch side of the door. Where there is no wall space to the latch side of the door, signs shall be placed on the nearest adjacent wall.
Mounting height shall be 48" to 60" above the finished floor to the centerline of the sign.
Mounting location shall be so that a person may approach within 3" of signage without encountering protruding objects or standing within the swing of a door.
